Basic Details For Workshops

Full details will be given closer to the workshop dates.
Again you will have to register for the workshop and a deposit of 50% (of total $472.50 for the two days) will be required. Details of who models and location are always based on the class and weather a few weeks before. Participants are put into realistic situations and forced to be creative all while being in a no pressure client / photographer environment.

The workshop is a long day starting with a few hours of classroom understanding of basic lighting, preplanning, reverse engineering of lighting concepts, emulation, and developing ones own creative view point. We also discuss the types of equipment available, pros and cons of each, modifiers and their effective use, and how to deal with the worst conditions possible. Participants then go straight into the locations and begin working with their models to put our technical "baselines" into use. The day ends with a sunset and or dramatic skies session where they will have full reign of their new creative tools.

Available dates and additional details will be sent to the first 8 interested photographers (per class) for the next workshops. Please contact me through my website contact page with your regular email address to be put on the list

Registration Is Now Open | Evolution Workshops

There are a lot of photographers putting on workshops during this time of the year. Of course it is slow for most in the industry and you need to get another type of gig to pay the bills, I get it. There is also a HUGE number of people still trying to get into this industry and unfortunately it is slowly killing the high level of value in photography. Or is it?

At this point I see a small number of photographers who are doing everything they can to change up their game and give themselves the edge they need to rise above the average body of work. Some of you understand that hard work, value to your client, and continued creativity will give you staying power and the ability to raise the price of your work to where it should be.

Clients now understand that using a cheap photographer is not worth the money they saved and are looking for someone who can provide them with professional results and a relationship they can come back to again and again. Are you that photographer? Are you that business person?

If you are ready to give a boost to your work, jump start your business, or just add some great tools like lighting and solid composition to your kit, this is the workshop for you. But one important thing to note, this is not some program for success. Leave the Tony Robbins stuff at home, get out in the field and learn to master the techniques required to create repeatable results, marketable imagery, and consistent creativity.

2011 Workshops Are Coming | Evolution Photo Workshops

Last year I hosted an "off camera" lighting workshop series that eventually evolved into a fully advanced photography experience. The one day workshop now touches on all aspects of client-based photography and the business aspects that go along with it.

This year the workshops will be just that, a full day of hands-on experience with models, locations, lighting, client/model relationship, preplanning, post production and problem solving. Basically a chance to tighten up your skill set for taking on a client, getting amazing results, and perform like a professional.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to break through to the next level no matter where they are now. Both seasoned pros and serious amateurs have been a part of these workshops and all have advanced or learned something new.

It's about the experience, sharing of knowledge, and an opportunity to be in a comfortable environment to hone your skills.

New This year are two alternative and slightly specialized workshops. The first is a Low Light workshop. The new sensors these days are great in low light but this workshop will show you how to get consistent and marketable images in conditions for stage, band photography, outdoor venue and time exposure/ light painting. The second workshop will focus on Action Sports photography and the techniques for getting the images you came for, as well as getting accreditation and working the venues.

More information is coming for these workshops so stay tuned to this blog. We have guest instructors/photographers, models and cool locations in store.

Below are some past workshop participants images. Everyone who has been to one of the workshops has put their own creativity to the techniques they have learned.
